Privacy Policy

Last updated July 15, 2026

Canopy uses the profile and birth information you provide to calculate and personalize astrological readings. Android account access uses Google sign-in, and app features beyond onboarding and the subscription gate require an active Google Play trial or subscription. Optional foreground location can be replaced by manual place entry. We do not sell personal information, run third-party advertising, or track you across other apps.

1. Who we are

Canopy for Android is developed and operated by Stellar Apps LLC. This policy describes information handled by the Android app and its Android account, subscription, and security services.

For privacy questions or requests, email canopyappsupport@stellarappsllc.com.

2. Information Canopy handles

Profile, birth, and chart information

Canopy handles the display name, birth date, birth time, birth place, coordinates, timezone, and other details you provide to calculate and personalize readings. It may derive chart placements, age or age bracket, country and place categories, and an inferred-gender label from the display name for first-party subscription-funnel analysis. Inferred labels may be inaccurate. Canopy does not collect or derive sexual orientation.

Google identity and account identifiers

Canopy uses Google sign-in to create or restore an Android Canopy account. A Google ID token can contain a stable Google subject, email, name, and basic profile claims. Canopy verifies the token and converts the Google subject into non-reversible, purpose-bound account identifiers. It does not store your Google password, the raw Google subject, or the ID token, and the Android account bridge does not persist the token's email or name claims.

Google Play subscription and purchase status

Google Play processes subscription payment. Canopy receives the product, base plan, offer, purchase token, purchase state, entitlement, expiry, acknowledgment, pending state, restore and reconciliation details needed to verify access. Canopy does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.

Location

If you choose to use current location, Canopy requests approximate or precise foreground location to help select a place and calculate current-moment readings. You can deny location permission and enter a location manually. Coordinates used for readings may be transmitted to the backend, cached with results, and represented in account-linked service or analytics records. Canopy does not request background location and does not continuously track your location.

App activity, searches, and generated results

Canopy records five first-party events: onboarding completed, daily open, reading completed, paywall viewed, and subscribe tapped. Those events use an account identifier and, at most, country and a coarse age bracket. Backend activity, security, and subscription records may separately include the requested service, time or time window, coordinates used for that request, app and platform metadata, subscription milestones, and derived age or place categories. Custom election-search details and generated results may be sent to the backend and cached.

Security and integrity

Canopy uses Google Play Integrity, marketplace licensing, app and signing metadata, account-bound purchase verification, and one-time challenges to prevent fraud, replay, tampering, and unauthorized access. Integrity signals do not grant a subscription by themselves. Canopy does not use the Android advertising ID.

Feedback, support, notifications, and calendar actions

Canopy handles optional feedback text and ratings you submit to its first-party feedback service. If you start a support email, the draft may include Android version, device label, Canopy version, and build; nothing is sent until you choose to send it. Requested notifications are scheduled on your device. If you choose to add an event to a calendar, Canopy asks Android to open a calendar action; it does not read or upload your calendar.

3. How information is used

Canopy uses information to:

  • calculate natal charts, daily guidance, electional timing, fixed-star placements, transits, and other requested readings;
  • personalize the experience and save profile, settings, searches, and results;
  • create and maintain the Android Canopy account;
  • verify, restore, and reconcile Google Play trials and subscriptions;
  • provide support and understand first-party feature and subscription-funnel use;
  • secure the service, prevent fraud and tampering, comply with law, and enforce applicable terms.

4. Service providers and disclosure

Canopy uses Supabase for backend infrastructure, database storage, authentication, and APIs. It uses Google for Android identity, Google Play Billing, Play Integrity, and marketplace services. These providers process information to supply those services, under their applicable service and platform terms.

Canopy does not sell personal information, run third-party ads, use personal information for cross-app advertising profiles, or use third-party advertising or attribution SDKs. A user-selected email, calendar, or sharing app receives information only when you deliberately initiate that transfer.

Learn more in Supabase's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.

5. Retention, deletion, and subscriptions

Canopy retains account information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide and secure the service, complete or resolve transactions, comply with law, and enforce applicable terms.

You may permanently delete your Android Canopy account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, from the signed-in subscription gate, or through the public Android account-deletion page. Android account deletion removes the Canopy account and account-linked profile, chart, settings, content, activity, service, funnel, purchase-binding, and entitlement data. Canopy may retain only legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction records that are not linked to the deleted Canopy account. Google may separately retain marketplace, tax, fraud, or transaction records under its own policies.

Deleting a Canopy account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel it in Google Play subscriptions.

6. Your choices and privacy rights

You can update profile and birth information in Canopy, deny or revoke optional location and notification permissions in Android settings, enter a place manually, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about the personal data Canopy handles.

California residents may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. Canopy does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. EEA and UK residents may also have rights to object, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, and complain to a supervisory authority.

To make a privacy request, email canopyappsupport@stellarappsllc.com. We may request reasonable information to verify that a request concerns your account. Do not send a password or birth details by email.

7. Security and children

Canopy uses HTTPS/TLS in transit, access controls, platform signing, account binding, integrity checks, and server-side authorization appropriate to its services. No method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

Canopy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and delete it.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Canopy or applicable requirements change. We will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice for material changes when required.
